Of Living Rooms
Afraid that I might create a mess, I hired a professional interior designer to compose the look of my living room. I told her to make it Zen-inspired as I am a Japanese culture lover. But I pointed that my books should be in the living room.
What she first did was take the huge television screen out. She said that a chic living room does not have a television. Tv should be in the room or the entertainment area. Though I was not a 100% approved of that, I still obliged. I was so fond of her claim that I made an essay about that encounter.
She placed a faded green carpet, retained the cream sofa, low table. She place two ceramics with Japanese geisha drawings on two opposite corners. Instead of the blinds, she asked me to buy a pale yellow curtain for the center window. A tall lamp shade was also left in the right corner for a cooler, more lax vibe.
So far, I have been enjoying being reading in my living room with a dim light. Thanks to the designer.
